Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Manager-Technical Contract Remedies is responsible for driving improved supplier performance by enforcing liquidated damage remedies for late delivery of aircraft parts. Manager will supervise direct reports based in India, tasked with identifying, initiating and settling lead time, turnaround time, and contract incentives claims, along with tracking, capturing and processing payment of such claims from United's aircraft goods and services suppliers. This position acts as the primary liaison to the Strategic Sourcing department in the development of contract language in support of obtaining such remedies and serve as a subject matter expert in the area of technical contract product support provisions and contract incentives

  • Perform and supervise analysis of annual volume of over 120,000 purchase orders and 150,000 repair orders, on average

  • Identify and pursue available remedies from overdue orders

  • Initiate and settle over 600 claims per year

  • Maintain, update and refine a master parts database to properly and accurately associate each and every aircraft part in the Company's system to a particular vendor and product support agreement for the purpose of collecting remedies

  • Identify and pursue incentives made available in supplier contracts

  • Maintain proficiency and currency with Warranty Administration team by supporting a portfolio of claims with vendors

  • Collaborate and liaise with the Strategic Sourcing team in the drafting of liquidated damages language in new agreements

  • Support recurrent training of product support provisions contained in all technical contracts


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Three (3) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, finance or similar industry

  • Proven people leadership

  • Understanding of material logistics, supply chain management and contract administration

  • Strong negotiation, communication, analytical and organization skills

  • Advanced MS Excel


  • Three (3) years’ experience initiating claims using data extracts, filtering transactions with available knowledge of existing contracts, negotiating settlements with all suppliers and processing payments

  • Boeing PSAA and Airbus SSC product support provisions

  • Able to draft concise product support contract terms

  • Advanced knowledge of SCEPTRE

  • Able to write complex SQL queries


  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
