Technical Operations/Maintenance

Technical Operations includes the maintenance, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

As a Planning Specialist, you will work with others in Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain to execute and optimize the accomplishment of engineering projects. You will be responsible for monitoring critical regulatory and reliability projects and will collaborate with the contributing teams to resolve issues preventing project completion. This position requires knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning and strategic thinking to implement successful plans for project accomplishment. As a Planning Specialist on the Technical Operations Planning team, you will be responsible to:

  • Lead the efforts to develop corrective action plans for projects going off-track

  • Own the planning and execution of all emergency and urgent projects

  • Find and implement new ways to optimize project schedules

  • Interface with leadership and other project stakeholders to provide updates on project progress

  • Collaborate other teams withing planning and materials groups to solve issues impacting project progress


  • Bachelors in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business or relevant experience

  • Two years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning or relevant experience

  • Two years of experience managing projects

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems

  • Basic experience using data analysis and quantitative modeling techniques (e.g. statistical, optimization, simulation, spreadsheet)

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact at all levels and team with all business partners

  • Ability to handle simultaneous projects and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Creative thinking and problem solving skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • MBA or MS in Engineering, Mathmatics, or Statistics

  • Project Management or Lean Six Sigma Certification

  • Knowledge of supply chain

  • Knowledge of airline finance

  • Advanced Excel (VBA and Macros)

  • Data Visualization (Spotfire)
