Technical Operations

Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

Responsible for generating claims for liquidated damages from aircraft parts suppliers due to failure to meet contractual lead-time commitments and obtain payments attributable to contract incentives and volume rebates. Work involves a variety of analytical functions related to the extraction of supplier performance data from purchase order data and commodity contracts. This role requires an ability to consolidate and present such data, negotiate equitable settlements from suppliers, and recover monies owed to United.

  • Generate accurate claims against suppliers obtained from raw data

  • Apply business acumen and communications skills in negotiating timely settlement of claims

  • Work with Accounts Payable to ensure proper processing and application of credits

  • Pro-actively and effectively participate in supplier business reviews and communicate to stakeholders

This position is offered on local terms and conditions within United’s wholly owned subsidiary United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.


  • Bachelors in supply chain/logistics, accounting, business, or a related field or 1 year equivalent experience in contract administration in lieu of education

  • Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel

  • Background in auditing business transactions

  • Negotiation skills and experience

  • Superior attention to accuracy and extreme detail

  • 1 year's experience in relevant field

  • Must be fluent in English and Hindi (written and spoken)

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the India for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • 1+ years of experience in contract administration

  • SQL, VBA or other programming language skills

  • Data visualization skills (preferably experience using Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)

  • Experience using SCEPTRE (System Computerized for Economical Performance, Tracking, Recording and Evaluation)

  • Experience using TCS Accounts Payable (TAP)

  • Auditing Practices

  • Airline Technical Operations Supply Chain experience

  • Boeing PSAA/Airbus SSC familiarity

  • Purchase/Repair Orders familiarity
