Technical Operations

Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

Responsible for the maintenance delay, cancellation and event recording process and programs. The recorded information is used by the Technical Operations OBIEE reporting program. The Technical Operations OBIEE program is used for statistical reports involving maintenance operational performance and to identify maintenance operation problems and provides an indication of aircraft reliability and station performance.

  • Reviews the maintenance delay, significant event, and cancellation information entered by Line Maintenance, Maintenance Control, Network Operations Control and Airport Operations personnel

  • Coordinates with Technical Operations departments, Line Maintenance, Network Operations Control and Airport Operations departments in regards to maintenance delays, significant events and cancellations

  • Reviews the maintenance delays, significant events and cancellations utilizing aircraft history and delay codes on a daily basis

  • Maintains the Maintenance Delay recording programs for maintenance delays, significant events and cancellations

  • Ensures maintenance delay, cancellation and event information is recorded in Sceptre and Data Warehouse

  • Assists the Manager of Maintenance Delay Management and performs additional tasks as required

  • BS degree in aeronautical engineering or other related discipline or equivalent

  • Ability to understand and learn technical aircraft systems

  • Analytic and data presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to extract data from mainframe and web-based systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products

  • Shows ability to learn new terminology and adapt to changing systems

  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

  • 1 year experience involving recording and/or reporting and/or analytical work

  • Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Aircraft airframe and/or Power plant technician license or equivalent

  • Aviation Maintenance Management or Administration or equivalent work experience
